爆破片为拱形开缝的金属膜片和密封膜构成的组合件。爆破压力由膜片拱面上的缝和孔构成的减弱结构控制。当被保护系统超压时，爆破片沿薄弱环节拉伸破坏，泄放压力，从而起到保护作用。
